Why become Accredited?
Why would I want to become an accredited spa?
The rapid growth of the spa industry over the last few years has resulted in the need for robust and comprehensive standards of accreditation, especially in the areas of medical treatments. Spa breaks and medical tourism have become a major industry. Massive ranges exist in the quality of facilities and treatments offered.
Clients increasingly are encouraged to seek out accredited providers before agreeing to treatments. The move from simple spa treatments to Medispa packages (with invasive and potentially dangerous treatments) leaves unaccredited spas not only at a commercial disadvantage but also vulnerable to litigation if acceptable standards are not being met.
SAI standards act as a framework for safe practice reassuring both the client and spa owner that treatments are offered according to best practice.
